We partner with School Boards, Children’s Aid and other Social Service agencies to provide proactive and responsive solutions and resources that help the most vulnerable children, youth, and families.

We provide resources to children within the child welfare system and those transitioning out of care.

We partner with community organizations for training and other resources to better equip the population we serve.

CHILD WELFARE SERVICES

While our services and supports are designed for the most vulnerable, regardless of race or ethnicity, as an equitable organization, we have a specialized focus on Black and other marginalized communities.

FINDINGS BELOW HAVE BEEN SOURCED FROM ONE VISION ONE VOICE, A PROGRAM OF THE ONTARIO ASSOCIATION OF CHILDREN'S AID SOCIETIES

Referral Source in child-maltreatment

Compared to investigations involving white children, investigations involving Black children were more likely to be referred by school personnel and police.

Child & Caregiver, Characteristics

Investigating workers were less likely to note at least one child functioning concern and at least one primary caregiver risk factor in investigations involving Black children compared to white children.
